How Cat by Cat's adoption process works

If you’re interested in a kitty you see on Cat by Cat’s PetFinder page, website, or social media, fill out and return our Adoption Inquiry form.

Once we receive your completed application, one of our adoption coordinators will reach out to you by phone. With the goal of finding a good match for both human and kitty, we’ll learn more about you and answer any questions you may have.

Next, we’ll set up a meet-and-greet at our shelter or the kitty’s foster home. If the in-person meeting goes well, you will sign and contract, pay the adoption fee, and bring your new furry family member home along with the cat’s medical records, microchip information, a small bag of dry cat food, and a certificate for a free first vet visit (good at many local veterinary clinics). You will also receive helpful tips for introducing a new kitty into your home.
